Mammoth yoghurt: good brand, poor product?

Mammoth yoghurt on friand

Mammoth, part of Fonterra’s portfolio, has done an interesting job of branding itself as the man’s yoghurt. So good, in fact, that it recently won an award at an international food show in Paris. I had to give it a try.

The packaging is unique – bit busy but a different shape and size than most yoghurts. There’s a little spoon in the lid, which is convenient or wasteful depending on your need.

The yoghurt is nice and creamy, but I wasn’t convinced on the seeds in there – they just get between your teeth and seem like they aren’t meant to be there. The fruit was a bit sweet and jammy.

Good job on differentiating itself, but I prefer some alternatives…
